Hello, I'm Hama, an artist.
This time, in this column,
I would like to introduce my paintings and activities.
It's mainly oil paintings,
I paint a wide range of works, from concrete to abstract.
Scenery and still lifes seen in daily life,
I draw inspiration from photographs and other sources.
Oil paintings take a long time to dry,
We will work on 4 to 5 pieces at the same time.
I mainly draw at night, with a glass of wine or coffee in hand.
I draw while listening to my favorite music.
Painting is a form of relaxation for me.
I didn't always like drawing as a child,
When I was a student studying abroad (I was worried about the language),
It just so happened that I ended up selecting art and ended up liking it.
In the past, my grandfather used to paint Japanese paintings as a hobby.
My parents also liked art and were learning it, so
That may be one of the influences.
I also enjoy all aspects of the arts, including theater, dancing, performing, and pottery.
I'm a completely liberal arts type of person, and I value my senses and intuition.
I often space out or get lost in my own world,
Sometimes I don't notice what's going on around me (laughs).
Not limited to oil painting, but also acrylic and pen paintings
I also like design drawings and would like to pursue various forms of expression.
The paintings I have expressed through the filter of myself are
Rather than being realistic, I think my own colors have been added to it, resulting in both realism and abstraction.
A little imperfect is better than perfect.
I want to treasure the essence of the painting.
On the other hand, I try to be careful not to miss the essence of the painting.
Those who have seen the work say it is beautiful and somehow good.
The atmosphere is conveyed, it's interesting,
I hope you will feel that way.
Little by little since last year,
We have expanded our activities through exhibitions and online sales.
We post our daily activities on Instagram.
I will continue to draw many pictures,
I hope to meet many new people and be able to work at my own pace.

While studying abroad in the UK as a student, he majored in art.
Afterwards, he attended an art school in Tokyo, where he continued creating and learning.
He currently lives in Chiba and creates works inspired by people and nature.
