Tatara / Gunma Prefectural Tatebayashi Museum of Art
It opened in 2001 to provide many prefectural residents with the opportunity to appreciate works of art and to promote art.
We exhibit and collect works from Japan and abroad with a focus on modern art, with a theme of "nature and humans."
You can admire the work ``Polar Bear'' by French sculptor François Pompon. The exhibition room containing François Pompon's sculptures is made of glass, so you can view them while looking out at the outside scenery.
The building is in harmony with nature, and the scenery is beautiful. On sunny days, the museum is soothing with blue skies and lush green lawns.
The modern annex building on the premises is also a highlight.
