Colors and shapes shift gently, and in an instant, a different atmosphere is born and disappears. The changes are not dramatic, but hidden in stillness. The overlapping of surfaces and lines subtly outlines the flow of time and the contours of emotions, illuminating invisible "boundaries." The landscape changes shape depending on which layer the viewer stands on. It may be a record of "transition" that occurs not in the outside world but within.

Description of the work:

This work was created in 2022 and won the Effort Award in the magazine contest of the art magazine Ichiban no E, where art is put to the test. Hokkaido winters are often associated with heavy snowfall and bitter cold, but there are also beautiful days when you can feel the warmth and beauty. This painting is inspired by the image of a snowy evening scene that evokes such warmth, and the ever-green colors of the Ezo pines, even in winter. I used a light green frame to soften the coldness.
