This is the " #fromartist " management office where you can find it 😊
Today, it will be held from May 2nd to May 7th, 2023.
FROM ARTIST First commemorative exhibition
Works from “A Journey Through Japan’s 47 Prefectures! Art Across Japan”
I would like to introduce you✨
Artist name: MIMIKO
Artist profile:
I started studying ink landscape painting in 2013, and am currently reconstructing my own interpretation of the ink painting concept of ``sky and destruction'' into contemporary art. In his works, he primarily expresses the "fluidity" and "ambiguity" of things, and uses various media such as paintings, video installations, performances, and audio to consider new developments in the philosophy of landscapes.

Title of work: PEEK 001
Work size: Vertical length 27cm x width 24cm
Description of the work:
Media: Performance, documentary photography
Location: Art Village Park, Tomi City, Nagano Prefecture
concept:
This work is a reflection on the modern society's disenchantment and the rationalization of things.
The ``crow doll,'' a messenger of God who is trying to hide himself in the bathroom, symbolizes the current situation in which the mystical power of myths and religions has diminished in the age of science and technology. In an information society where people are seen as if they were naked, I wondered if their actions and thoughts are constantly being watched and controlled.
And the spiritual power, soul, and spiritual side that humans originally possess have been sealed away within the framework of the representation of rationalized reality, and have fallen deeply asleep in the container of the physical body.

Title: Traces of Desire 001
Work size: Vertical length 27cm x width 24cm
Description of the work:
Media: Performance, documentary photography
Location: Hakuraku, Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama City
concept:
In modern times, technology has artificially increased the number of things (or concepts) in the real world, breaking the finite nature of human beings, and creating a new concept of "jinrui" from human desires, creating various possibilities. Ta. Of course, the world may be becoming "modernized" and "civilized," but I think it's still incomplete.
This work is an experiment that allows people to become aware of the structure of the place they live in and to think about their personal ideology. I wore an all-white suit and played the role of a god that exists in the world of the work. By taking a walk in places such as residential areas, parks, and train stations, and creating a sense of discomfort in everyday life, I focused on the people around me.
