Morioka / Iwate Prefectural Museum of Art

It was opened in 2001 to develop the collections collected and exhibited by Iwate Prefecture and to pass them down to the future as a common property of the people of the prefecture.

The collection mainly consists of works by local artists such as Tetsugoro Mantetsu, Shunsuke Matsumoto, and Yasutake Funakoshi.

The exhibition schedule for 2023 is scheduled to feature Tamako Kataoka, Isao Takahata, and Iwate, so be sure to check out the exhibitions that are being held at that time when you go.

It has a free parking lot that can accommodate about 150 cars, a wheelchair-accessible elevator, and free coin lockers, so be sure to check it out when you're in Iwate.

At the ``Flower and Art Forest,'' you can admire seasonal flowers and about 20 sculptures.

You can read explanations of the art by reading it on your smartphone, and you can walk around while doing a stamp rally using a smartphone app.

You can enjoy flowers in the garden, which vary in color depending on the season, such as tulips, lavender, and maples.

Tsuchizawa/Mantetsugoro Memorial Museum of Art

It was opened in 1984 to honor Tetsugoro Man, one of the pioneers of modern Japanese art. It was built on Tateyama, which was loved by Man.

The collection is based on the theme of ``Yotomo and Tsuchizawa'' and includes Yokoo's oil paintings, ink paintings, drawings, and other works, as well as notebooks, letters, photographs, and personal effects.

We regularly hold exhibitions themed around the works of artists from Yorozu and Iwate.

It's a little-known museum where you can take your time and appreciate the peace and quiet, so be sure to check it out.
