summary
Koriyama / Koriyama City Museum of Art
It was opened in 1992 as a place to provide relaxation to many people, taking advantage of its lush green location.
The building designed by Takahiko Yanagisawa won the 35th BCS Architecture Award in 1994 and the 100 Best Public Buildings in 1998. Buildings that incorporate the concept of ``nature x people x art'' will give you an extraordinary feeling, as if you have stepped into a different world, and a sense of comfort from the harmony with nature.
The collection focuses on British art, contemporary Japanese art, book art such as illustrations, and works by artists connected to Koriyama. Many outstanding works of art are on display, including some of Japan's leading landscape paintings by Constable, as well as works by Ryusei Kishida and Sotaro Yasui, two of Japan's leading artists.
The museum is large and spacious, so you can take your time and take your time admiring the works. You really ought to go and see!
