Artist name: Sayaka Fukumoto
Artist profile:
Debuted as an artist in New York in 2018. He has exhibited works in the United States, Europe, and Japan, including works depicting the cat character Akanpo-chan using acrylic paintings on photographs, works with showbiz themes, and drawings.
In 2019, he stayed at an artist residence in France, creating and collecting acrylic paintings.
In 2020, I started oil painting in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and based on the influence of the classical paintings I saw in Europe when I was a child, I created this work along with traditional works based on the theme of what would classical painters paint if they looked at the present day? There is.

I don't usually draw abstract paintings, but sometimes I combine colors and images that come to mind.
For this painting, I used a bumpy groundwork to create an abstract painting that included not only the colors but also the surface.

El Jefe means "boss" in Spanish. I drew him at a bar based on a friend of mine, a Mexican man who is loved and called the boss by everyone.
For me, oil painting is about what classical painters would paint if they looked at the modern world. This is the theme I am drawing, and while I was spending time with my boss this time, I came across a scene that seemed very modern yet classic, and I had the opportunity to draw it.
