スペインのベラクルス キリスト教会です。遠くの風車がドン・キホーテを思い出させます。ドローンで撮影した映像を描くのに許可を得たのはいいものの、あまりにも不鮮明でした。不鮮明でも、そのきれいな姿に描きたい思いは諦められない。そのためにあちらこちら調べたり、修正したりしながら作業としては大変でした。そのおかげで、いろいろな事を知ることができました。スペイン瓦の温かさ、壁のなんとも言えない素朴で愛らしい色。鐘がなる石組建築の重量感。建物の絵を描いていると、私自身が建てている錯覚を起こしそうなワクワク感があります。教会ですので十字架ははっきりわかるように明るくして描いています。鐘は一番動いている状態にしています。手前の石組建物と奥の建物では異なる素材ですが、違和感が出ないように注意ました。サイズは額の大きさで厚さ5cmです。小さい絵ですので、表現したい主役をどんと真ん中手前に置き、あとは遠い風景にしました。こんな素敵な教会なのに、いつもはこの角度でみるができないなんてちょっと残念です。この絵を描くことができてうれしいです。
