ルレオはスェーデン北部の北極圏に位置し、夏は避暑地として冬は海も凍るほどの極寒の地として有名です。 一日中高度の低い夏の太陽。うっすら赤く空を染める日と対照的に青空ものぞいています。湿度も低くサラッと心地よい良い季節。 沈まない太陽なんて幻想的。体内リズムと自然のリズムに誤差が生じたとき、楽しい時間でそれを埋めたいですね。それを感じさせる人々が、行きかっています。夕方になると気温が下がり、身を縮めながらも活動的です。雨上がりで気持ちのいい空気が、さらに澄んでさわやかさが増していると思いました。ホテルの丸みを帯びた建物のレンガ色がとてもよく、雰囲気を醸し出しています。そんな街の様子を感じ取りながら絵を描きました。
