Description of the work:
I was in my late teens. It was early summer. I was daydreaming on a slope overlooking an inlet. At that moment, a dozen starlings flew past from east to west, making strange cries and pecking at the ground. Watching them, the word "Dermadelcox!" resonated in my mind. Suddenly, for no apparent reason. From that day on, I began calling starlings "Dermadelcox." Dermadelcox had a historical air about them, a cosmic bird-man. I also felt that some of them were like sophisticated robots that had transformed into starlings to spy on Earth. I no longer have those fantasies, but to me, starlings are still Dermadelcox. Starlings are everywhere. Every time I come across one in Toneri Park or on the banks of the Arakawa River, I call them "Del-chan!" in my mind.
