This painting was inspired by a visit to a certain shrine.
The shrine looked radiant and exuded a very joyful energy.
It was as if the gods and humans were holding a "festival," a banquet.
Or perhaps it was as if we were being invited into a festival for the gods.
And from that space where everyone was smiling, it was as if you could hear the voices shouting "Iyaa saasa."
It's a call for Okinawan dance,
The words that emerged from that voice and sound were
"Yaei"
I had heard the word before, but I didn't really know what it meant, so I looked it up.
Yaei is
May all living things flourish more and more, and continue to thrive forever.
It seems to have the following meaning.
I think he was referring to Yae because he felt that it perfectly matched the energy he felt from ``festivals'' and ``banquets,'' and I hope that energy is conveyed through the painting.
