Description of the work:
Tosai, ceramic works
This is connected to Miyazawa Kenji's "Night on the Galactic Railroad."
When we connected to what Kenji was looking at, we found that there were many layers, and necessary information was coming down from various different worlds of time and space.
Kenji received this information while he was still living on this three-dimensional Earth.
There is testimony from a former student at Kenji's agricultural school that he wrote down his notes in his notebook with incredible speed.
I am not good at writing things down as quickly as Kenji, so I tried to use the power of clay to bring down information from different layers of time and space onto a vessel.
When I see what Kenji saw in a visible form like this, things I hadn't noticed before suddenly become clear, and things I had thought were strange no longer seem so strange.
That's the feeling I have.
When information from each space-time emerges from the tip of the pure gold paint brush in a single vessel, it is only then that one can realize, "This is clearly drawn from the layers of 'Night on the Galactic Railroad,'" or "This is probably a 'Yama-nashi'."
I began to understand.
And another piece of work,
Sometimes they look like intangible sparkling energy particles, and other times they look more concrete.
For example, even with "Yamanashi" alone, I feel that there are many layers within this one work.
There are many of Kenji's works,
People say it's for children or religious,
I think this is because what a reader sees varies depending on which level of entrance they use to enter Kenji's world.
I feel that it is precisely because Kenji himself did not guide readers by saying, "I want you to read my work like this," but instead tried to convey what came to him as it was, without even understanding it himself, that so many of these entrances remain intact to this day.
I feel that the works that emerged from the clay through my tube somehow revealed the way that Kenji's works span different layers, combined with the subtle energy of the gold leaf.
It seems as if many layers of connections are overlapping and appearing within a single clay vessel.
I hope you can feel it in your heart.
