ゴールデンウイークに北海道開拓の村で開かれた同じ作家協会の画家さんの個展に出かけた際、そこに保存されていた古い木造家屋が印象に残ったので、ペンと水彩で描いたものです。※1884（明治17）年築 旧所在地：小樽市手宮町 北海道初の鉄道である幌内鉄道の手宮駅の駅長官舎として建設。
