Description of the work:

A woman with blue horns and blue ears. The blue horns and ears are inspired by the blue deer known as the "blue buck," a real-life blue deer. Blue deer, which frequently appear in my work and became extinct in Africa due to overhunting, represent those living in misfortune. However, they are considered special creatures by shamanic people and appear in European literature, so I also sense hope and joy in them as muses who have provided special inspiration to humans. Furthermore, humans with horns also represent miracles and glory in religious terms, so combining them with the beautiful creatures that govern life—women (females)—creates a motif of great significance for me. The different colored eyes are also a reference to the saying, "A cat with different colored eyes sees the future with one eye and the past with the other."
Rejoice depicts the suffering that humans are born with, despite the fact that they are creatures that give hope and inspiration to humans, and the state of mind that is suddenly liberated from that suffering.
