Description of the work:

The object in the center is a Calabi-Yau manifold. A Calabi-Yau manifold is a space that appears in theoretical physics; it is an incredibly small space that clings to every corner of the four-dimensional space-time we live in (it is immersed in four-dimensional space-time). The structure of this space is said to be reflected in the properties of our four-dimensional space-time. The diagram in the background is a diagram to explain the index theorem, which is closely related to Calabi-Yau manifolds. The number obtained from the index theorem is thought to correspond to the number of particles that exist in the world. Calabi-Yau manifolds are actually six-dimensional spaces, but they have been visualized by projecting them into three dimensions (two dimensions).
