山梨県を拠点に、日本の文化や民話にインスピレーションを得た陶画を制作しています。武蔵野美術大学でグラフィックデザインを学び、平面の視覚表現を経て、立体の触感と表現の可能性に魅了され、30年以上前に陶芸の世界に転向しました。陶芸家としての長年のキャリアを通して、表面、形態、そして物語性の関係性を探求してきました。近年では、グラフィック構成の経験と彫刻的な陶芸技法を融合させ、陶芸作品を通して平面的な視覚表現へと回帰しています。わたしの作品には、富士山、知恵と守護の象徴であるフクロウ、幸運を象徴する猫、繁栄を象徴する鯉、そして日本の伝統的な民話から着想を得たテーマなど、日本文化に深く根ざした象徴的なモチーフが多く用いられています。作品はすべて手作業で制作され、質感、釉薬のバリエーション、そして絵画と彫刻のバランスを重視しています。 陶芸を通して、自然、精神性、そして人間の生活の調和を表現しようと思っています。 【Instagram】@yoko8154
